We have a boating history of 50 years from sailboats; Columbia 28 to Catalina 38, power boats and trawlers; Willard 30 to Mainship 35 and 40. My wife and myself have always liked the Nordic Tugs but the cost was just too much, then we heard that some key personal had broken away from Nordic Tugs to start their own company and build a new boat from scratch using the most advanced building technologies in the industry and it was going to be along the tug-workboat design, so after three factory tours seeing boats in various stages of construction they had me hooked. Now for the big challenge, convince my wife. After numerous viewings she was hooked also. So we purchased Hull #1 "Paesano" and haven't regretted it. We have owned her since June 2009 and logged over 300 hrs. In all kinds of weather and sea conditions, summer and winter always pleased with her performance both on the water and at the dock. Our only regret about the Fathom 40 is why did we wait so long?
P.S. the staff at Fathom Yachts is professional in all aspects of boat ownership.

After seeing the boat, and we've seen many, I asked my wife how she liked it. She said "I love it". A happy spouse makes for happy boating so there was no other choice. We've now cruised on Shades of Grey for three years and can't wait to head north again this spring.

I had a 37' Riviera before I bought the Fathom. I don't even know where to begin with the Fathom. I have been told by many people I have had on the boat that it has the room of a 50'er inside. The pilot house could not be laid out better even in good weather Carol and I and our guests seem to be in the pilot house it is so quiet and comfortable we can easily have a conversation and entertain while enjoying a great view. I take the boat out by myself a lot and with the stern and bow thrusters handling could not be easier. It is easy to board and disembark. The engine room is well laid out and all the parts that need regular maintenance are very accessible. Carol my wife very much likes the layout of the galley and the salon. Ric and the guys have been there every time I have had a question and are great to deal with.

I'm a new owner (as of August 2010). I've been boating on the west coast for 15 years and have explored the entire coast between Victoria and Glacier Bay pretty thoroughly during that time, spending about 50 days a year on the water (and often more). I'd been looking at the Fathom for a couple of years as it's an eye catching vessel on the water and appeared to have most of what I was looking for in a cruising boat (it was time for an upgrade after a dozen great years with our old Bayliner). After spending some time on the boat, and then a day at the factory seeing the quality standards underlying its construction, I was sold. We have had the boat for about 4 months now, so have only done local trips (throughout the Gulf Islands and the San Juans). We've been really pleased with the performance of the vessel and its systems, its level of comfort, and also the responsiveness of the company to any needs we've had for follow-up. Of all the boats I've been on, the design of the hull, the use of interior space and the ergonomics are by far the best for our cruising plans and needs. The pilot house is nothing short of awesome in terms of comfort and visibility! The boat handles well in a variety of seas, and is very efficient in terms of fuel consumption so long as you're not in a hurry. But if you're in a hurry it's nice to know that you can get there fast. We have a return voyage to Alaska planned for this coming summer and a circumnavigation of the Island for the following summer.
